I call them "autumn lily" but this
Lycoris squamigera is called "
naked lady". And it's Amaryllidaceae, not Liliaceae.

These pink "naked ladies" --because of no leaves? -- were at my friend's garden in Shoreline.
Images below are another Lycoris, but I never saw this kind in Seattle yet.

While this
Lycoris radiata is called
spider lily in English, Japanese call this
higanbana because this blooms around
higan, (autumn) equinox. So
higanbana 彼岸花 literally means the equinox flower blossom. They also call this
manjyushage 曼珠沙華 -- white flowers in heaven which associates with the Buddhist scriptures.
